MONGOLIA 2026
Background
Last summer at Talbot Seminary, Pastor Billy met Pastor Baataraa from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The two quickly connected, discovering shared relationships and a common heart for the gospel. During their conversations, Billy was surprised to learn that the first Christian church in Mongolia was planted only about 30 years ago. Despite this recent beginning, Christianity grew significantly over the next 25 years. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought major setbacks. In 2020, the number of active Christians in Mongolia was estimated at 47,000. Today, that number has declined sharply to 26,000, pointing to an urgent need for encouragement and partnership in the gospel.
Mission Trip Information
Dates: July 27 - August 10
Team size: 10 max
Cost: Up to $3000 (hopefully less)

Form of ministry:
Our team will conduct evangelism through sports outreach in two Mongolian cities: Ulaanbaatar and Baganuur. The plan is to run Ultimate Frisbee sports clinics to build relationships and share the gospel. We will also minister to believers in the host church and at their biannual Church Camp at a retreat center.

Qualifications:
- At least 18 years old
- A strong Christian faith
- A desire to serve the Lord and share Him with others
- Ability to work well with others
- A teachable spirit

Important skills:
We are looking for people with at least some of the following gifts and skills:
- Ultimate Frisbee experience (or a natural athlete who can learn)
- Ability to work with teens and/or children
- Musical ability (the Mongolian church would like us to join their worship team)
- Organizational ability (to help with planning and logistics)

Other:​
- The application deadline is March 17
- You will need a current passport (a visa is not necessary)
- There will be a mandatory 401 Class along with team meetings leading up to the trip
- You will be taught how to fundraise if you need help with trip costs
