Care Ministries seeks to reflect the love of God to those in need through practical means. There is a Care Fund that is used to aid people who need a hand. Additionally, we encourage and support those who are hurt and grieving, as well as visit those who are home bound and elderly.

For part of Care Ministries, we utilize an online tool, CarePortal, to meet external needs in the community and internal needs within our church. For the external needs, we participate with a dozen churches in Santa Clarita to meet various requests in our community. These needs have been vetted by local social workers. If you respond to a need, the church that took the lead on the request will collect the funds and materials (like beds and diapers for example) to give to the family in need. Cash is never given directly to the family. 

 

When BCC uses CarePortal to meet internal needs within our own church, those requests are posted anonymously and can only be seen by members of our own church. They might be opportunities to serve others with practical needs, such as cleaning their yard when they are physically unable. As a church, we want to use CarePortal to show God’s love in practical ways to those in need.
